State Officer Visit Week

Last week was a very busy week! I had my final evaluation and the PA state officers came to visit! On Monday, the two state officers came to visit. They did a variety of leadership and team work activities. I was slightly nervous about this visit because some of my classes do get really rowdy and down right inappropriate. I was so impressed though! They all behaved very well and were active in all the activities through out the class period. It was eye opening to see the state officers this time in a classroom. I remember being in high school as an FFA member and thinking that the state officers were incredible and really looking up to them. Now, realizing they were actually around the same age as I was at the time is crazy to think about! It never registered to me before. Seeing them now from a teacher perspective, where they are still not that much younger than me, was even more exciting as I realize the dedication these teenagers have to the organization and the amazing experiences they really are gaining.

This week was also a total reflection week. I tried to soak in all the knowledge and advice I could from my evaluation with Dr. F and Mrs. B. This was super scary but also eye opening. There is so much to being a teacher than I think many people realize. I am certainly trying my best and still feel like I am totally failing some days. Its definitely getting debated what my future career should actually be. I have a huge passion for kids and agriculture. Being able to teach and build kids up in knowledge as well as confidence is so important to me. But, if you are truly not good at something maybe you need to change your idea of what you consider your dreams and goals to be.

Overall, there is so much to think about when it comes to the future. For me, all things revolve around what will be best for my son. There will be lots of decisions to make in the near future and it is just as exciting as it is scary.
